| Bill and Travis took their families to
the park on Friday night and camped overnight. The 20 degree
overnight temperatures kept me away. Don and I showed up at 10
am and we were on the trail by 10:30. Like usual, we were making
good progress until Don's truck 'popped' and the front wheels
ceased to turn. Upon inspection, the bolts that secured the
front driveshaft to the transfer case yoke let loose. We had
lunch and I climbed up on a rock in the creek while we were
waiting. After lots of trial and error, we found some bolts that
would work and we got back underway. |

Eventually we came to the v-rock and
Travis had the honor of going first. He didn't have much of a
problem with his 35's. Bill cursed his truck's length and got hung
up on the boulders. Travis hooked up and gave him a tug. Don and I
followed. I had to back up and take a different line because my
radius arm kept getting hung up on the passenger side.
After the v-rock obstacle, the end of
the trail wasn't far off. We were looking at tough lines we could
take to make the trip longer. Travis and I mapped out a fun little
line between a tree and a good sized boulder.
Bill said he would give it a go.
Travis made it through with out much of a problem. The loose dirt
didn't offer much in the way of traction, but he made it through
with a small ding in the lower driver's side door.
