Thanksgiving Day Trip to Carnegie SVRA - 11/25/99

Thanksgiving morning started promptly at 8 am with the rumble of V-8's coming down my street. After everyone was assembled, we headed out to Carnegie SVRA in the hills of Livermore. It was our first trip with Katie, so we spent a good deal of time gawking at how big her Blazer was.

Participants:

John - 1989 Ford Bronco

Jimmy - 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser

Mark - 1988 Ford Bronco

Marty - 1985 Toyota Pickup

Justin - 1983 Toyota Pickup

Dan - 1989 Ford F-350

Mike - 1988 Chevy S-10

David - 1985 Ford F-250

As usuall, we pretty much had the only 4x4's in the park that day. We found a good place to park and watch everyone take on the frametwister at Carnegie, which is about the hardest thing in the park.

I took a shot at the frametwister first and made it through with only geting off my line once at the end of the obstacle.

Next it was Mark's turn. I guided him and he got through unscathed.

Marty was up next and drove through the rocks with absolutely no regaurd for his vehicle. Of course the indestructable Toyota makes it through in record time!

Jimmy's first day of actually wheeling the 'cruiser was a success. He made it through the frametwister and showed us how having an ultra-short wheelbase helps.

Katie gave the twister a go. With 44's, you don't have to worry a whole lot about your underside getting hung up on the rocks.

I was hoping the Blazer wasn't hungry!

I came down from the hill and saw Mark's tire was turned just enough.........
